Long long ago, there was an excellent Teacher, who taught AYURVEDA, by the name BRAHMADATTA. He had many students, and after 10 years of teaching, he called his students and said, " I have taught you all I know, now it's time to decide how much you have grasped".

He asked them to go into the forest the next day early morning and come back in the evening collecting those leaves which are of no medicinal value. He also said that they would be evaluated on the number of plants that they identify with no medicinal Value.

All went the next morning and came back in the evening. Some collected basket fulls, some bag fulls and some handfuls. BRAHMADATTA examined all with a sigh, and came to the last student called JEEVAKA,who was empty handed. When BRAHMADATTA asked him "did you not find any Plant or tree that was of no medicinal value? "

JEEVAKA folded his hands and humbly said, "Guruji, I did not. Every morning before we start the class, you would make us recite a sloka as a prayer which is

अमन्त्रं अक्षरं नास्ति

नास्ति मूलं अनौशधं

अयोग्यं पुरुषं नास्ति

वियोग: तत्र दुर्लभ:

This means, there is no alphabet in Sanskrit which isn't a mantra, there is no leaf, which isn't a medicine, there is no man/ woman, who is a fool or useless.

When our entire education started Every day with this sloka, how can on the contrary, I find a plant or tree, that is if no medicinal value?"

BRAHMADATTA quite pleased with JEEVAKA,hugged him and blessed him. JEEVAKA later became one of the most erudite doctor, who was called Dhanvantari by his patients.

This beautiful story, conveys the depth of our ancient education system, which identified the method to use Mantra, Mani & Aushadhi, and also the way which filled the pupil with positivity and confidence.

Leaving and shunning a treasure, we are filling our children's minds with crap, pushing them into rat races and throwing them into depression. Let's respect our culture
